Naturally you can’t aim, reload, jump, or do anything but watch the Wendigos chase after your petrified ass with glee, as they beat the piss out of you with those long arms. And in the middle of that cluster fuck, you got this tall ass Colossus sneaking up on you and screaming at you which makes you run away. Those level 75 Wendigos ain’t like that pushover juvenile in the Wendigo Cave. After dumping the first core into the Colossus I knew I was screwed.

So ok, you can do this TX! All the perk cards are set up as if going after the Queen, so I decrease rads, pop another rad-x, gulp some water, and here we go. After 5 solid minutes the only reply I got was “I dOn’T cArE AnYmOre! KiLl It YoUrSeLf.” Sorry I pissed in your Cheerios even if you were one of the players that asked me to let you know! I back off, hide, and let everyone that was there know the Colossus is at my location and if you’re interested come on. Is that a nut sack hanging from it? And wait.that’s how many level 75 Wendigos with it? Three? Uh.five. I went back in the nuke zone, and just as I was about to give up I see it. After another 30 minutes I took a break to regroup. By that time everyone else left so I fast traveled back to camp, got some more water and irradiated meat, and went back.Ībout this time I get several messages saying “Let me know if you find the Colossus.” I replied affirmatively and kept on searching. All weapons were 130% repaired when I started.Īfter running around with 8 other Wastelanders for 30 minutes all I came up with in the nuke zone was Supermutants fighting Glowing Ones. My two shot Gauss minigun had about 10% health remaining and was out of ammo after 3,000 rounds. My vamps ultracite gatling broke and went through 11 cores. 50 which had about 10% health and 80 rounds out of 4,000 remaining. For those that don’t want to read the whole story I did it at the cost of a vamps. At the time I didn’t know there were two spawn points in the circle. Dropped the nuke just to the west of the Federal Disposal Field HZ-21. Wendigo Cave: Encountered in the depths.First time trying. It's unique to the Key to the Past quest, as it represents the mutated exiles from the Gourmands and will typically flee from the player. The only attack they have is an area-of-effect shriek that will damage and disorient any player caught within range. Furthermore, wendigos cannot be staggered.įortunately, wendigos lack ranged weapons, so it's possible to jump on the scenery and as long as the player states out of the reach of their claws, plink them to death. Melee weapons are effective, but require to close distance. Their small frame and speed make them difficult to hit with non-explosive weapons, while shotguns have reduced effectiveness as rarely all the pellets hit. Wendigos are among the most vicious monsters encountered in the game. By 2103, certain Wendigos had mutated into far more dangerous mutants, gaining two extra heads, extremely long legs, and increasingly dis-proportioned limbs, becoming known as the "Wendigo Colossus".

Twisted by the radiation within into a mutant possessed by the darkest cravings. Despite alleged pre-War sightings, it appears the population of wendigos in the region is descended from the banished heads of the Gourmans, a cannibal raider tribe, that took shelter in the Wendigo Cave and was. Their hands are exceptionally large with very long, skinny fingers and they are among the most vicious mutants in Appalachia, capable of closing distance and tearing enemies apart with frightening speed. Wendigos are slender, tall creatures while they are usually slouching down or crouching. Unfortunately, this monster is far from myth. Possessing alarming speed, razor-sharp claws and an insatiable hunger for raw flesh, it is truly the stuff of nightmares. Few creatures, real or imagined, terrify West Virginians quite like the Wendigo. In post-apocalyptic West Virginia, the term is used to refer to a particularly terrifying humanoid monster lurking in the backwoods of the region. Wendigo is a mythical cannibal monster native to the northern forests between the Atlantic Coast and the Great Lakes region of North America.
